Travis is a managing partner of Benedict Financial and a member of the firm’s investment committee. Within the firm, he focuses on the application of independent research within clients’ portfolios. He also creates retirement income and estate plans to help protect clients against the multiple risks that face them in retirement, while creating a smooth transition to the next generation(s).
Travis is a native of the Atlanta area. He currently lives in Sandy Springs with his wife, Sharon, and two daughters, Megan and Kate. He attended Berry College on a Presidential Merit Scholarship. While at Berry he received a B.S. degree in Business from the Campbell School of Business and was awarded the Earl Roberson scholarship for outstanding achievement in Economics. His post graduate studies for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation were completed at Oglethorpe University.
Travis’ interest in the financial markets started at a very young age. He purchased his first security when he was only 17 and has been hooked ever since. It proved more difficult than he expected to start a career in financial planning without taking a position with one of the large sales oriented banks or other financial organizations. Fortunately a friend referred him to a fairly small independent firm named Benedict Financial Advisors, Inc and Phil offered him a position to join the team. It has proved an ideal opportunity to grow within an independent planning office with Phil as a mentor. Travis believes Benedict Financial is structured in a manner that places the firm on the same side of the desk as the client. He enjoys the ability to apply independent research that the firm selects in their long-term investment strategies.
